We'll be stuffed to the gills with turkey and far too many good shows and films to watch so get those sweatpants ready and let's go (yes, it's OK to wear sweatpants to the theaters now, we'll allow it)!

Manifest

Manifest

Release date: November 4, 2022

How to watch: Netflix; trailer

Why to watch: After being canceled by NBC, Manifest circled the skies in hopes for a landing place. Devoted fans waged an impressive campaign and Netflix answered their call, giving the show a fourth and final season to wrap up the story. Season 4 will be released in two parts a la Stranger Things, with ten episodes hitting on November 4. Season 3 ended on a tragic death and we'll see how the supernatural mystery lands. Returning cast members include Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh and J.R. Ramirez.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story

Release date: November 4, 2022

How to watch: Roku Channel; trailer

Why to watch: If we told you that Daniel Radcliffe was starring in a Walk Hard-esque spoof biopic of the legendary Weird Al Yankovic, and that Evan Rachel Wood was also on board playing Madonna, we'd think you were pulling a Weird Al and goofing. It's just so meta that we need a Manifest-style investigation. Daniel Radcliffe continues to defy expectations and choose brilliant roles to play (hello, Swiss Army Man! Another Sessions project that deserves to be in the hall of fame) so we've no doubt that he'll bring his all to portray the affable, beloved Yankovic. And if you didn't know Roku Channel existed, you know now!

Young Rock

Young Rock

Release date: November 4, 2022

How to watch: NBC + Peacock; trailer

Why to watch: The Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wrestling Wonder Years show debuted to a huge audience in 2021, and its third season moves to Friday nights, much to fans' delight. Co-created by Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat), season 3 follows The Rock as he continues his nascent journey in Wrestlemania, after making his debut in season 2. After seeing younger versions of The Rock, Uli Latukefu who first portrayed the later teen years continues his excellent portrayal of the megastar in the new season.

The Fabelmans

The Fabelmans

Release date: November 11, 2022 (limited); November 23, 2022 (wide)

How to watch: In theaters; trailer

Why to watch: By now, most people know the backstory of Steven Spielberg; his passion and love for filmmaking stoked at a young age, providing a welcome relief from family drama. The Fabelmans is Spielberg's most personal film, as a semi-autobiographical depiction of his childhood spent falling in love with movies. Eagerly anticipated, The Fabelmans debuted to acclaim and awards at the Toronto International Film Festival, picking up the People's Choice Award. Spielberg brought out all of the heavy hitters for this one, reuniting with several of his award-winning collaborators, including cinematographer Janusz Kaminski and the greatest film composer of all time, the retired John Williams. Tony-award winning writer Tony Kushner (Angels in America) collaborated with Spielberg on the script. As a fellow cinephile, we can't wait for this moving ode to family and cinema.

Yellowstone

Yellowstone

Release date: November 13, 2022

How to watch: Paramount Network; trailer

Why to watch: The highest rated show on cable for two straight seasons, Yellowstone is the television phenomenon that somehow isn't more talked about. It's not for lack of ratings - at 11mm+ viewers, Yellowstone's season 4 finale even surpassed Game of Thrones' heavily anticipated pop culture juggernaut of a series finale. The crown jewel for burgeoning Paramount Network, Yellowstone features a talented cast of Kevin Costner, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille and Wes Bentley, among others. But the real star is series creator Taylor Sheridan, the former actor turned in-demand screenwriter of such taut, precisely written drama-thrillers as Sicario, Wind River and Hell or High Water. Sheridan elevates Yellowstone to must-see TV territory, and season 5 promises to be a banger.
